If you're interested in trading, sharing ideas and meeting other fig growers please bring in some fig plant material.

Date: Sunday June 22nd at 10:30 am
Place: Bethlehem, Pa
Reservation required, space is limited. Please email me at bassgarden@yahoo.com
Fees, $5 a person (for Lunch and drinks)

Thank you

I hear if you're in the market for a home already planted to a lot of fruit trees that Bass will also give tours of his house. :)

Yes my house along with the fruit trees garden and a greenhouse for sale. I don't want to sell to someone who's  gonna cut down the trees.

Count me in.  If there is someone in the "Far North" who wants to go but doesn't want to drive 8 hours, I can meet you at exit 18 on the NYS Thruway and take you from there and back.  I have room for 3.

I hope there's still one spot available.
Long drive, but sounds like the trip of a lifetime for this lonely figster.
I'll bring the photo equipment.
Lebmark, you know what I'm bringing for you.

I'll be returning home from a week-long family vacation (a working vacation, helping my father-in-law cut and split 6 cords of firewood in northern Idaho, his only source of heat) just a few days before this get-together, so I'll be loaded up with chores upon my return.  I'll be there in spirit. :)

Ruuting,
If you are going to hit the New York State Thruway(I-87 ) at any point, you could leave your car and I could take you from there to Bass's and back.  It may take a couple of hours off of your drive.  If it helps, PM me.  Otherwise, see you there.

C.J., thank you for the offer. I'm cutting across at the GWB, I'll be on 95 all the way to the Bronx.
Besides, I'm gonna have a lot of plants in the back of my car :)
If anybody who won't be able to attend wants me to keep an eye out for specific varieties, let me know, I'll bring a list with me.

Bass, I promise I'll leave my pruners at home.

OK, who is bringing what?  I have a few Gino's if anyone is looking to trade.  Should we all bring a plant or cuttings etc. to do a raffle with like in the past?  If so let everyone know because someone may be unaware of this tradition.

For me the raffle is the best part and the most fun.
I'll be bringing some extra trees and try to take a few cuttings.
Could we do name tags again ?

We should all be bringing in fig plants or cuttings for the raffle. Everyone will have a chance to pick.
we can do name tags again.

There's a chance for showers on Sunday, I hope it won't rain until we're done.

I'm on my way!  Holed up in a cheap motel 6 but only 4 hours from Flemington.  Tomorrow I pack up more orchids and supplies then go over to Bill's, dinner with friends.  Saturday load up and head to friends house and Sunday I head to fig gathering. So ready to do something fun this weekend.

I'm bringing some Celeste and Black Mission (don't have anything exotic yet to trade since I'm a newbie) trees in one gallon pots (about 2 ft tall) and some vegetable seedlings since I have too many and I hate to throw them out (heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers)

I had hoped to participate in the raffle .... just for the fun of it.  I mailed Bass a caprifig tree on Tuesday to go into the raffle just in case any of you dedicated folks were up for trying that.  Unfortunately, as is the case in a maybe 2% of the time, my package took a long way there by first going to SoCal and is now in no man's land.  Maybe if one of you folks gong there live nearby are interested in it, you can grab a rain check for it and pick it up later.

Many many thanks to Bass for hosting this fig gathering, and it was a great pleasure to meet all the folks and forum members at the gathering! Btw if anyone took away an "unknown white-Queens" 1-gal from the raffle I would love to hear the progress of my former cutting.

Best regards

Rafael

I'm going to try to put names to pictures, but I'll miss a few.

1.  Bass.   An important shot.  That is a traditional gif-pickig basket that he is holding.  He used if for the raffle tickets.  It belonged to his father.

2.  Left to right:  Kaitlin, friend of Ruuting/Rui/ Ruuting/Rui,

3.  Left to right:  Jenia/C.J., Rafaelissimo, Schaplin, friend of Ruuting/Rui, Kaitlin, Ruutig/ Rui

4.  Not sure, not sure, Jazz Bass, not sure

5.  Mrs. Jimmy Chao, her child, Bass, Jimmy chao, Debbiescockatiels/Debbie Park

6.  Not sure, not sure, Todd/fignewbie

7.  ejp3/Ed Power, Coop

8.  Not sure of the woman, Bass

9.  Schaplin, Bass, not sure

10.  Angelo and Vito (I think)

Hopefully, someone will step in and correct me and fill in the blanks.
