I have trees from cuttings that are growing up to the heavens that are merely single branches.  Is there a way I can prune the tree to make it bush out?  What I am worried about is killing the tree as I am not sure when I can prune.  Just so you know I am located in Thailand.

Given that you are in Thailand, I think it is safe to cut the top third or at the height you want it to branch out.

Check out this thread, and do a search for air layers and pinching.
If your plants are already too tall, you should probably consider an
air layer, but keep in mind that if you plan on planting in the ground,
your soil line is gonna be lower, the height of your flower pot will go away.

Leaning the plant or the branch sideways, forces it to grow laterals as well. just don't do it at once. lean a little, and wait a few days, lean some more and you will see. if plant in a pot, you can after, lean it the other way...and branches will form also.

Hi Kevin. Welcome.

It sounds as if your tree can be pruned to whatever level you want without hurting it too much. Figs are very resilient.

And don't worry about answering posts immediately here - you probably have a life that includes more than just sitting at a keyboard. ;)

Unlike the rest of us  :)

Welcome!  Be sure to root the cuttings you take and trade it with your friends for varieties you don't already have.

My trees are about 120 -150 cm tall. They grew quickly here in Thailand.  As you can see they are single branches and I  want them to bush out without killing them.  Each has a green bud on top and a few have starting figs(or so I believe)..... I am not sure my trees will go dorment due to the climate.  Any suggestions.... thanks for the links and tips.
