One of the best tasting black figs out there....everything you expect from a good fig...but,they need a long, long, hot summer....(not in Ohio.....).My tree is 4 years old,in a 55 gal pot, loaded with figs, but they need 3-4 more weeks of summer/heat...will see. Thanks for looking.

Sweet George is originally from Austria. Florea is originally from Romania, introduced to us by Herman.Now...the "soft" part about its hardiness...You have to keep it in a big pot for the first 2-3 years.Once the trunk has 2'' or more in diam, you can plant it outside(inground),in a south sunny side of a house/barn/building.

OK...the story with this fig...three or four years ago,a good friend of mine from Benevento,Italy-Martino Vanoli, gave me three cuttings from his tree.He said to me-mia piccola negretta. This is how I came up with Negretta label. And I will keep the name of UNKNOWN NEGRETTA,in memory of my friend(he passed away last year).Thank you.
