Hi!  I have enjoyed seeing everyones' fruit of their labor :) and am really looking forward to the day I can actually eat a fig off my trees!

I have a couple of trees in their 2nd year now that have small figs on them but now one tree is covered with what looks like rust and 2 others have some suspicious spots.

Is it better to spray them or use the powder stuff?  And, do I need to remove all affected leaves???  I looked through the forum and I wasn't 100% so before I butcher all the leaves I thought I'd ask :)

Thanks for all the advice!  Thanks to Jason and Jon for cuttings early on and their generosity!!  They are growing well!

They look awesome!!  One of these days hopefully will have some like yours!

Last summer I bought some mission figs from Trader Joe's and they were actually good!  They also had some green figs (no label) which were good too.

Thanks guys!  I was just curious bc I think one of my figlets has signs of FMV and it's in a pot on the deck with all my tomato and cucumber plants and was wondering if I need to isolate that figlet if it was transmitted to others.

Still new to the whole fig growing process but definitely hooked thanks the forum! :)

I was wondering does FMV get transmitted to tomatoes or cucumber plants or other veggies?  Or is it just a fig specific virus?

Thanks!!:)

Subject: need some advice on problem with rooted cuttings in cups Replies: 1

Hope everyone is doing well! I have a bunch of cuttings that have rooted in clear plastic cups and they are doing pretty well.  A bunch of them are leafing out but on some of them, the slightest touch makes the baby leaves fall off.  Does this mean I'm overwatering or not watering enough?  The leaves are a healthy bright green color and I have them sitting in a bin open during the day with indirect sunlight.

Thanks!!

Thanks everyone for the tips!  I had been going by the weight of the pot but I just wanted to make sure I don't kill any of them by overwatering:)!

Hi!  I don't know if this has already been covered elsewhere but how often do you usually water your figlets when they are in 1-2 gallon pots?

Thanks!!!

Thanks everyone!  I don't know if I'll have the heart to pluck them little figs off early to help it grow more... but it will be exciting to see if there will be some.  I'm in zone 7 and it's already in the upper 80's here, so we'll see:).

Hi!  I'm a fairly new member but have been learning from the forum and have rooted some cuttings successfully and some are now in 1 gallon pots!  I know I should be patient, but I was just curious how long it generally takes for the new fig trees to first bear fruit?

Thanks to everyone who posts and to Jon for this awesome forum!  :)  I'm now addicted to growing figs too!!

I see that you are using the aqua globe...has that worked well?  I was a little scared to try it for fear of it rotting the roots.

I may be interested!  I haven't tried Brown Turkey's before but wouldn't mind trying.  How much for the cuttings? :)
