Hey Mike , I am very pleased with the flavor of my petite negri both crops are very good tasting it's a very slow grower got more growth this season than the two previous seasons combined. I'm sure you will like it.

Akram it's been the hottest year I can remember tasted extremely good. I never had issues with splitting because the squirls steal them before they are ripe but will keep a close eye on main crop as they ripen been extremely humid here. How about for you?

Dale I too was looking at figless trees for a couple years and even now I am but a few are rewarding me.

Leon I too have been thinking about this as I have both young plants Niagara Black and Longue D'aout and leaves are too destinct and similar to ignore. Only difference is that the Niagara Black makes darker figs. Anyone get ripe main crop longue daout this dark? I can assure you niagara blk is an excellent tasting fig.

Dominick I agree I was surprised 1st by size difference generally breba's are usually bigger than maincrop but what it lacked in size it gained in flavor.

Thanks Leon.

Dominick I had a sals corleone Breba earlier that day and although it was smaller and different shape the taste profile was very very close even pulp color was the same. I agree that all the names mentioned on this thread are either the same or closely related.

Dominick I had the tree in semi shade earlier this season and leaves grew kind of plain and huge newer leaves are more defined I will take a pic today last season they looked like this.

First time eating a Fiorone di Ruvo was very good. Still think DK has the upper hand in flavor but this was quite good.

Thank You Rafed for the Plant. Jasmine Approves lol

Vasile ill tell you a little about this fig. The mother tree was originally a pingo de mel fig from portugal that started producing yellow figs with red stripes. Allot of cuttings and plants were taken from this tree but a couple season's ago the original plant reverted back to yellow figs. Adriano still has two Adriano plants one produces striped figs the other does not.

My Plant is still young and probably wont produce any figs yet but I believe some people will get yellow figs only and other's might get the striped figs time will tell. Could have been age related or weather related but if your just looking at the two side by side you would say its the same fig in a blind tasting contest you could tell the difference.

You are right about that fig looking like a Kadota or Peters Honey and after growing pingo de mel, Kadota & Peter's honey its been my observation that some of them are Either Related or Identical. My peter's Honey & Pingo de mel looked nearly Identical in leaf shape & Fig shape & Color but the pulp on my Peter's honey was pink and Pingo de mel was Yellow wich the center a Light brownish color and much better tasting.

John the paradiso from joes garden is the Nero. Genes paradiso is green skinned red pulp. Not saying that your unk Vince #3 is the same but they are fairly similar I'm sure in time we will be able to figure it out.

Breba is a nice size too and looks great.

Akram , your very welcome.

Gorgi it does look allot alike was that also a breba?

Gina there are quite a few figs that look allot like sal's corleone possibly the same or related. I have not tasted any main crop from my sal's corleone yet.

Main Crop from Last year Looked like this.

End of season They looked more like this

John Yes lots of main crop already at stagnent stage for about 4 weeks.

Dan I had a sal's Corleone breba yesterday too and was much smaller and black in colour very good tasting as well tasted very similar but the Columbaro Nero was sweeter. Possibly due to it being 13 year old tree?

Ruben, those figs look awesome I used to have a texas everbearing but leaves were very different more like a mission and had red tips. Unfortunately I lost it this winter and never got any fruit. I also noticed most of the Texas Everbearing trees I have seen for sale localy look very different. Dont think the one I had or seen localy are authentic as the ones I seen localy have brunswick type leaves.

with a side by side shot like that they certainly look identical.

Thank You BLB, I did notice last year fruits were very different in shape to my VDB from EL wich made me happy I didnt want to end up with two Identical plants. If its a true Petite Negri or not I have no clue figs are very tasty though and thats what really matters.

Vasile what is your thought on My plant?
