Exactly.  How can you believe anything from a drunk priest.

OldGhost -  I don't want this to come off wrong but if this is that serious for you, why don't you get another priest (who's not drinking).

Definitely have a lot of time AND PATIENCE.
Who would have thought to take the pith out of a cutting and then carve it?

I have one that is growing very well too. Started as a cutting this past winter so can't comment on the fruit yet but is a vigorous grower.

Dennis looks very happy there.

Jon,
The ones on the ground look to be cut in half.  Why are there so many on the ground cut?  I'm coming next year and bringing my tortoises (the grounds keepers).

Sara,
I was just there 2 days ago picking up another one for a forum member, with tax it cost $8.50.  I think it is super cheap for a nice decorative piece even if it is a reproduction.  I was able to locate a bottle in it's original box and a vintage trading card with the same picture, both on ebay.
It's a street vendor who is only open on weekends, so you won't be able to find them on the internet.  They don't even have a store front - it is actually a covered space between 2 old buildings and these signs are hanging on the walls of the buildings.
I go back to Fredericksburg this weekend and pick one up for you.
Anyone else want one, while I am there?

Last winter while visiting my parents in Georgetown, TX I noticed the neighbor had covered their plants with similar covers.  They where basically a lightweight water resistant material with a draw string at the base and some little button to hold the string tight.  The problem was the wind would get caught up inside the bag and lifted it like a balloon and while we where there that afternoon 4 of their covers flew off.

They are talking about placing an order with UC Davis.

Here is the information page and towards the bottom of the page is the order form.  You'll need to open the order form, complete all the black spots and then save the completed order form to your computer.  Then open an email the person a few post before this one and attach your completed order form.

Dan,

From Clue number 1:
1.  Is there something that I need to look for to determine when a leaf flush is about to happen?
2.  Do you start your water bottles when you put your cuttings in a bag, so that the algae can get a head start?

From Clue number 3:
1.  Do you put any water in the quart jar or are you just using that for support and protection in case the bag leaks?
2.  What is the purpose of the plastic bag in the quart jar?
3.  How long does it normally take for the stems to fall off?

From Clue number 4:
1.  Have you experimented with water temperatures at this stage?  Example:  Putting some bottles in direct sunlight for a few hours outside and comparing those to the ones inside in the window?   Outdoor temps vs Indoor temps

About how long does it take to see root initials on the cuttings once they are in the plastic bottles in the window?

Hi Noss,
My definition of deep watering is:   Turn hose on a low trickle and let it run for a hour.   The low trickle will allow the water to seep deep down into the soil instead of running off.

Hi Anya,
Don't sweat over your little purchase.  Try to use them as a learning experience and hopefully you can save them.

I have an extra Blue Celeste, Golden Celeste and LSU Gold that I will send you in the fall once they go dormant.  They are about 3' plants right now so should do fine for you next spring.

Welcome to the forum.

Aeilee,
Since you have not addressed my offer, I assume that you are passing on it?
If you really wanted those for your aunt, I would think you would try to work something out so she does not come out empty handed, specially since I am offering 5 out of the 9 you list.  (even if some are duplicates, you listed them).  What do you have to trade?

Ailee,
I'll make a deal with you.  I'll trade a cutting of king, VDB, Brown Turkey, Verte and Green Ischia for a cutting of your Red Lebanese.
You ship first - sound like a deal?

Hi Sara,
I am talking about Vito's cuttings that I got from him last winter (or was it this spring - I can't remember).  They are large green fig and the cuttings have just taken off.

Vito - do you have any clue what the actual name is of your fig yet?

It just seems so odd to see a little plant with huge leaves.

I think we need to have a contest here and see who has the biggest leaf picture.
Obviously, yours against the bucket will be hard to beat.

Dan,
I have several extra cuttings from this tree, would you like a little plant that was started this year.  Little meaning 2-3' tall.
This fig was very sweet and smooth texture - like jelly.    Nothing is ever too sweet for me, my sweet tooth is over active.
