This Lebanese Purple/Black from Nick At Nix Gardens produced very well for me in Michigan this year. Resistes splitting and pretty prolific for being container grown. I recommend it for our climate.

I don't have Smith, looking for it.

I don't like Florea, it is very productive and super early. So is Teramo and it's better, not as early but early.
I have RDB too, it has yet to win me over.

Drew51,
I think you are close to me. I can share an airlayer of smith with you next season.

Richie,
I have a few that are on your list. P Aspra Sika are not ripening, but nothing is falling off. It took Pink Jerusalem 3 years for mine to hold the Fruit and produce. Perhaps they need time.

I've recently visited a local hidden orchard a few miles from me here in Metro detroit. There are several pictures below. The trees that are against the wall receive no protection. They are Mt. Etna varieties. The others in the yard just gets tarps put over top of them. Been growing here for 25+ years.

I am 10 miles north of Detroit. I've got over 100 trees container grown. A few in ground. I wonder how close this tree is to me.

Agree with Ross. Planting in the fall will ensure a failure for sure. Plant immediately after the threat of frost is over in the spring time.

Just talked with Leon. He said he has several that have rooted quickly. Seems like a vigiours variety. Prolific producer of ripe figs in our region also!

Yellow Neeches is an amazing refreshing fig. Reminds me of tropical fruit. My tree is fairly large but had major root pruning in the fall. Last year more than half of the figs from my tree were double mule (mutated) figs. I posted quite a bit about it on Rafed's fig group Facebook page. It is one of my favorite figs!

I am very thankful for James professionalism through this process. He has begun an endeavor that I'm sure none of us would ever try. I ordered many trees from James, while I waited I was able to obtain them from other sources. When I asked James for a refund, he replied promptly and refunded my order in full. I will do business with him in the future as I'm sure most people on this comment thread will.

Sorry for the late reply. I don't have any pictures of the fruit. Perhaps Jim may. Medium to large size. A few of the Breba's were double mule (mutated). It did not appear that any of the main crop were unless we missed them. Great discovery, Jim.

My advice do not buy anything from robrod815 on eBay. He has Ponte Tresa, Black Madeira, Dall ' Osso cuttings for auction. If you win the auction you'll get dried out brown turkey and kodota cuttings.

Also same story for eBay seller dausername1. They are both scammers.

If you want to buy on eBay, buy from Harvey C, Plant - Creator (Ray), KK or Giacomo (Just Figs). I've dealt with these and a few others and had great experiences.

I was scammed by both dausername1, 77Peony, and RobRod815. Don't waste your money like I did. Deal with someone reputable.

Thanks again for spreading around the cuttings of This precious tree with such a great history. All of my cuttings have rooted successfully. Seems to be quite a vigorous variety. Also enjoyed eating the fruit you brought me from the mother tree. Tasted like catelopes and walnuts mixed. Very delicate skin. A winner in my opinion.

I started growing my collection with these. Great first year. Next year and all the time thereafter they are nightmare. They crack everywhere and the slightest move after one year and they will bust. I would recommend that you make your own using 5 gallon buckets, they'll last forever and much cheaper and have handles to aid in carrying around when needed.

Please do not buy and waste your money. Seller was busted on eBay for bad cuttings (probably fake anyway). They have moved over to etsy. Still using same photos they used in their eBay listing. I was one of the people scammed. I am very selective in who I order from.

77peony on eBay currently has seven different cuttings listed for auction. Buyer beware. I purchased 4 different cuttings in november. When they arrived, some were moldy, rotten and the others dried out. Every one failed. I'm guessing they are not even the "rare" varities the auction claims they are. I am still trying to get a refund. Lesson learned.

I have the same problem with my Jolly Tiger bought as a cutting on eBay. I purchased from a trusted seller that stated it came from a highly verigated branch, and it did. From my research, it takes six month or so to produce verigated leaves.
